Dive Recs (7/5 to 7/11): About those Fireworks...

Album from the Vaults:

David Wilcox, “The Nightshift Watchman”: The first album of the prolific folk songwriter. The musician comes to The ArtsCenter Monday, so in honor of his tenure and impending visit, we recommend his debut record.

Movie from the Vaults:

“Howl”: Not exactly something from a “vault” of any kind, but definitely about an old school scene. James Franco plays Allen Ginsberg in this film (which is available on Hulu for free). The film follows Ginsberg in a documentary format in which a series of interviews are conducted. The movie is laced with animated depictions of the controversial poem, as well as cut-scenes to the trial that redefined obscenity. Give it a watch.
