Updated at 11:05 a.m. on Feb. 5: Cat Tales Cat Café announced via Facebook on Monday evening that they have received their "final purrmit," which will allow the café to introduce the cats as early as Tuesday. According to the post, the café hopes to open sometime next week.

Mildred Council walked out of a bank on Franklin Street. A loan officer had just denied her request for money to invest in opening a restaurant. She walked back into the bank through a different door and sat down with another officer. The second officer saw what the first didn't, and she got the loan.

The Town of Hillsborough has started construction to expand the West Fork Eno River Reservoir. The $16 million project will increase the reservoir's capacity from 1.8 million gallons of water to three million, and will shut down three roads over the course of two years.
