After realizing the increase in senior citizens in the Chapel Hill area, Robert Seymour decided to create the Robert & Pearl Seymour Center in honor of his wife that passed away a few years ago. Company Carolina’s “Legally Blonde: The Musical” opens Friday at Historic Playmakers Theatre. The show runs through Sunday at 7 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee also on Sunday.

The UNC Women’s Basketball team defeated Carson-Newman 111-50 in the first exhibition game of the 2013-14 season. Associate head coach Andrew Calder said the freshmen played well and the chemistry of the team is strong. Calder is filling in for Sylvia Hatchell, who announced Oct. 14 that she would be taking a temporary leave after being diagnosed with leukemia.

Thrill City is a clothing line that UNC student Ryan Cocca created in 2011. After two years of selling his clothing on his website, Cocca decided to go out on a limb and open a physical store on West Franklin St. Cocca and his business partners, senior Rohan Smith and junior Henry Gargan, opened their store to the public at midnight on Saturday, October 26.
