140 West continues development for residential and retail spaces to open this spring. The development aims to fill the gap between East and West Franklin St., and bridge the gap between Franklin St. and Rosemary St., says Jon Keener, development manager of Ram Realty Services.

The Raging Grannies of Chapel Hill held a peace talk event called "Bring Our War Dollars Home" at the United Church of Christ of Chapel Hill on Saturday morning. More than a dozen community leaders spoke to the crowd, including Chapel Hill Mayor Mark Kleinschmidt, Representative David Price, N.C. Senator Ellie Kinnaird and UNC student Zaina Alsous.
The Raging Grannies clapped during and after every speaker and wore peace paraphernalia.

Students from Carter Community School, a charter school in Durham, participate in UNC's Students for Education Reform College 101 day. The eighth-grade students toured campus, visited science laboratories and Carmichael Arena and learned about the benefits of attending college.
