Over the past four years, UNC seniors have had far from a normal college experience. After stepping onto campus during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, they attended college through an intense mental health crisis across UNC in 2021, a historic Final Four win against Duke in 2022, a fatal shooting in August 2023 and protests on Polk Place regarding the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza in 2024.

The Town of Carrboro will host its annual Carrboro Day celebration on May 5 at the Town Commons. The event, which will be held from 1-5 p.m., is meant to give Carrboro residents an opportunity to connect with neighbors, explore the Town's history and learn more about the Town's different initiatives and departments.

As an incoming freshman, two hours away from all I have ever known, move-in day was terrifying. I was leaving my comfortable room and moving into a 13’ by 15’ shoebox with a girl I barely knew and six new suitemates. Not only was I leaving behind my friends and family, but I was an only child who had never lived with another person my age before, let alone seven. Although the adjustment period had its ups and downs, living in an eight-person suite ended up being the best part of my first-year experience.

By the end of the summer, Davis Library and the Undergraduate Library will be home to two relocated spaces at UNC, the Music Library and a Makerspace, respectively. The Music Library is currently located on the bottom floor of Wilson Library and the Makerspace is located in Kenan Science Library.

RALEIGH – In a high-scoring back-and-forth affair, the No. 11 UNC baseball team (29-9, 14-5 ACC) fell to N.C. State (21-14, 11-8 ACC), 9-8, on Thursday. Wolfpack shortstop Brandon Butterworth was the hero for N.C. State in the bottom of the ninth. With the bases clear, Butterworth smoked a high line drive over the wall in left field for a walk-off home run.
