Though many students found the voting location confusing Tuesday, voting was actually taking place at the Center for Dramatic Art, not Morehead Planetarium. Once inside, the confusion continued as students had difficulty figuring out which line to stand in.

Winston Crisp, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, debates the importance of the type of degree that should be required for applicants for the position of Associate Provost for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. The search committee for the next person to fill this position met Monday to discuss the progress of the search as well as to make amendments to requirements and expectations for applicants.

Kaitlyn Jungkind presents her research on the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and their high rates of diabetes and obesity. She launched a website providing a resource guide to increase awareness of health programs to ECBI adults.

Junior Stephanie Zolayvar of Burlington, NC presents a poster on her research of gesture recognition at Monday's Annual Celebration of Undergraduate Research. One of the main aims of her research is to find a way to improve physical therapy for children with motor impairments. She used a Nintendo Wiimote to recognize the gestures involved in physical therapy turn therapy sessions into a game for the kids.

First year, Kevin Bell, of Henderson, NC participates in Human vs. Zombies. He is currently still a human, but the battle only began Sunday at midnight. He aims to be the final human but says his chances are, "oh horrible."

Katie Cook started donating platelets last semester and this is her 8th time donation. She donates because she can study while doing it. There is a shortage of blood and more people need to donate. Each bed has it's own TV as well as snack and drinks. Tom Neish, is the supervisor for the blood donation center.

Sophomore Enzo Martinez and his family left Uruguay when he was 10. Martinez set a high school record with 182 goals before coming to UNC, where he has recorded five game-winning goals for the Tar Heels.

Whit Price plays a short set at Tuesday Night's Open Mic with Bill West, a new feature at Katy at the Bayou in Hillsborough. Those who showed up for Open Mic Night varied from single acts to aspiring bands such as Strange Little Folk. Previously known as the Blue Bayou Club, the bar offered a stage for blues and jazz artists, but now under the new management of Katy Stewart, she hopes to expand the scene to other genres as well.

Bob (Doc) Charlton, the self proclaimed "Piano Man," performs a brief set at Katy at the Bayou. The bar, formerly known as the Blue Bayou Club, previously catered to bands that played mainly blues and jazz but now the new manager, Katy Stewart, plans to expand the musical genres that perform there. The bar holds an open mic night on Tuesdays every two weeks hosted by Bill West. Doc Bob's set included covers of Ray Charles' "Georgia on My Mind" and the Commodores' "Easy."
