UNC first-year Ellie Sellers sets up a banner on the steps of South Building on Friday Feb. 24. The banner displayed a timeline of the efforts Saavedra Forero and Murphy had made to try to improve accessability on campus. The banner displays the phrase, "This action is out of desperation" and Saavedra Forero elaborated that “Every time I talked to an administrator, it was like talking to nobody.”
Saveedra Forero and Murphy continue to be locked together into the late hours of the night. Their arms encapsulated by a PVC pipe, the pipe also had their “hopes, dreams and affirmations,” for their time on the steps written under layers of chicken wire and duck tape.
