'Good vibes all over': UNC women's lacrosse cruises its way to NCAA second-round win

On Sunday, the No. 1 UNC women's lacrosse team dismantled the Virginia Cavaliers, 24-2, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Its 24 goals — a program record in NCAA Tournament play — showcased a juggernaut offense led by fifth-year attackers Jamie Ortega and Scottie Rose Growney. Fifth-year defender Emma Trenchard and graduate goalkeeper Taylor Moreno, held Virginia scoreless in the second half. The Tar Heels will play eighth-seeded Stony Brook in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

UNC baseball drops third game of Wake Forest series, 11-2

After a 12-3 win on Saturday secured a series win for the Diamond Heels against Wake Forest, the Tar Heels failed to complete the three-game sweep of the Demon Deacons, losing 11-2 on Sunday. UNC’s runs were both off of solo homers from redshirt junior right fielder Angel Zarate and sophomore designated hitter Alberto Osuna.
