Leath hits her stride

Instead of fading as the season grinds on like many players do in their first seasons, redshirt first-year Taylor Leath has gotten stronger with each passing game. She turned in a fabulous month of October, and finished her first game in November with a career-high 15 kills.

Led by a resilient senior class, the North Carolina field hockey time easily claimed its regular season finale against Old Dominion.

Through the 2015 season, the North Carolina cross country teams have struggled to put together a cohesive team performance.

Women's soccer avoids snub

The North Carolina women's soccer team has never missed the ACC Tournament.

So with their berth in jeopardy this season, the Tar Heels trounced Miami 2-0 on Saturday to secure a spot in the postseason.

  • The North Carolina women's basketball opens exhibition play at home against Wingate at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
  • The North Carolina field hockey team travels to Charlottesville, Virginia to take on Louisville in the first round of the ACC Championship at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
