UNC ROTC commemorates 9/11

Members of the UNC ROTC ran more than 2,000 stairs in Kenan Memorial Stadium on the morning of Sept. 11, 2014. They did this in recognition of the stairs in each tower of the World Trade Center and in honor of those who lost their lives there on Sept. 11, 2001.

Faith Hedgepeth's parents plead for information

The Chapel Hill Police Department released new details on the investigation of Faith Hedgepeth's 2012 homicide on Sept. 4, 2014. UNC sororities compete in Greek Groove

The UNC Panhellenic Council hosted the 2014 Greek Groove on Tuesday. Funds raised from the annual dance competition between UNC sororities go toward raising awareness of the dangers of eating disorders. Proceeds this year also contributed to the David Shannon Memorial Fund.

Modern dance and rare books meet in performance

The ModernExtension Dance Company and Wilson Library's Rare Books Collection have joined efforts to present "Haunted," a performance combining choreography, film, improvisation and live music based on modernist poetry. The show is at 7 p.m. Saturday in Gerrard Hall and is free and open to the public.

Student Action Committee assemble in South Building

Members of the Student Action with Workers Organization assembled at South Building to ask Chancellor Carol Folt to require the accord to take responsibility for unsafe conditions in Bangladesh and end death trap sweatshops. Students dressed up as the 12 schools who have already signed the accord and they would like UNC to be the next to sign it.

UNC Dance Marathon makes history

UNC Dance Marathon is an annual charity event whose goal is to raise money for the North Carolina Children’s Hospital. This year was the first time in its 19-year history that the event raised over half a million dollars. See what dancers and organizers had to say about the successful event.
