Coming off its conference win over Virginia last week, the No. 25 North Carolina wrestling team faced off against Pittsburgh in Carmichael Arena on Friday night. Although the Tar Heels started slow, they were able to turn the tide in the 141-pound matchup and never looked back for their second straight victory in a 26-10 win over the Panthers.
On Friday night, the North Carolina gymnastics team squared off against Temple in Carmichael Arena. The Tar Heels jumped out to an early advantage and won convincingly, 195.300 to 194.375. UNC improved significantly from last week’s score of 194.375.

This past Sunday, former Tar Heel Shalane Flanagan became the first American woman to win the New York City Marathon in 40 years. She finished the marathon with a time of 2:26:53, upsetting the favored Mary Keitany of Kenya by over one minute.
