Aiken hauled in eight of C.J. Stephens' passes, giving him a total of 58 catches for the season -- a record for the Tar Heels.
Na Brown set the previous mark at 55 in 1997, then matched that number the next season.
Aiken could set another record during the next two games, at Florida State and Duke. With just 86 yards recieving, the senior will set a new mark in reception yards.
Aiken said he isn't putting his personal accolades over team success, though.
"I'd do anything not to set the record and have that victory," the Kenansville native said. "I don't feel like I'm inspiring anybody by getting a record."
