Student Congress began the work of finalizing appointments to student government positions Tuesday.

Many of the appointees were just getting their feet wet in student government affairs.

The student affairs and the rules and judiciary committees of Student Congress approved the appointments of all those in attendance and tabled the appointments of those who didn't show.

The full Congress body will meet in a special session Sunday afternoon to discuss the issues.

"It's always kind of nerve-wracking when you have so many appointments to go through and when the student affairs committee is so understaffed," said Emma Hodson, chairwoman of the committee.

"I hope they'll serve the best interests of the student body," she said.

Rules and judiciary chairman Domenick Grasso said all of the candidates were qualified for their respective jobs.

"(Student Body Vice President Adrian Johnston) did a good job of sorting out the candidates from the pool that he had received."
