Student stabbed after Halloween festivities

Has returned from hospital

A student was stabbed early Sunday morning after Halloween festivities on Franklin Street ended, police said.

He was treated at N.C. Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, Chapel Hill police Lt. Chuck Quinlan said.

He is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, said sophomore Xan Law, a member of the fraternity.

The fraternity president will issue a statement later today, Law said.

Police will give no other details until they investigate further, Quinlan said.
