The Daily Tar Heel

TO THE EDITOR:

Regarding Tuesday’s editorial, “Continue fight for access,” (Feb. 2), am I wrong in thinking that every time an illegal (“undocumented”) immigrant is admitted to a N.C. college, a U.S. citizen or legal immigrant is kept out?

So you want “affordable” (taxpayer subsidized) education for illegals because they were just little children when their parents chose to bring them here illegally, knowing at least some of the consequences. And we unjustly (as some say) “punish” them (meaning “fail to reward” them) for their parents’ illegal acts.

The limited number of places in our colleges, including community colleges, should be preserved for American citizens, legal residents and aliens here on student visas.
