Dance marathon is the best one-night stand

TO THE EDITOR:

For the past 12 months, the UNC Dance Marathon has been working to better the lives of the patients and families of N.C. Children’s Hospital.

Tonight marks the start of the culmination of our year. The 2010 UNC Dance Marathon is finally here, and we want you to be a part of it.

Sixteen hundred of you pledged to raise money and stand for 24 hours. Two hundred and eighty of you will stand for six-hour shifts to keep the energy up. Two hundred and fifty of you will volunteer behind the scenes to keep the marathon running. And in 24 hours, we will all get to celebrate the best one-night stands of our lives.

Dancers, you will make a difference in the life of a child when you set foot in Fetzer Gym tonight. You will be the reason we can say collectively we have raised more than $2 million for N.C. Children’s Hospital.

Join us at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow to celebrate the end of our 24-hour stand and the 2010 UNC Dance Marathon total fundraising reveal. Thank you, dancers!
