TO THE EDITOR:
It was a privilege to have known Dan Pollitt, the professor of law at UNC, who died last week. He spent his entire life working for social justice and civil rights.
I looked up to him as one of the greatest workers for a better life for everyone. Dan was a spokesman for those who lacked representation. His was a voice to be heard. His understanding of the U.S. Constitution was matchless.
Dan Pollitt will be missed acutely. I will always remember his compassion for humanity. He was a man of principle.
