Nominate those who have promoted diversity at UNC

TO THE EDITOR:

We go to a university that is incredibly diverse in thought, perspective and demographics. A diverse environment fosters collaborative dialogue and unites people across their differences, and allows people to share their perspectives in order to gain more insight, not only to other paradigms and viewpoints, but also to strengthen their own.

The University Diversity Awards and Reception is an opportunity to recognize members of the Carolina community in the pursuit of advancing diversity. The awards, which are given annually, distinguish a faculty member, staff member, undergraduate student, graduate/professional student, student organization, unit/school and community member in the advancement, contribution and commitment to the state of diversity at our school and in our community at large.

Please take this opportunity to nominate a person or entity that you believe contributes to diversity on campus. Let us take this opportunity to recognize crucial players in the pursuit of diversity, but also to acknowledge the potential for more diversity on campus.
