Bring a pen, write letters to U.S. troops overseas

TO THE EDITOR:

As part of GenerAction Week, the UNC College Republicans will be hosting “Operation Gratitude,” a program for students to write thank-you letters to our troops overseas.

The U.S. has tens of thousands of troops stationed abroad, many of whom experience extreme conditions and difficulties on a daily basis.

By writing letters, we will be letting our troops know that they have our full support and that we are grateful for the hard work and dedication their service provides every single day.

Carolina Troop Supporters will also be collecting items for care packages at the event. If you’re interested, check out our Facebook group for a list of needed items.

We would like to invite all member of the UNC community to join us at 7 p.m. today in Gardner 105 for a time of letter writing. All you need to bring is pen with which to write.

We will take care of the rest!
