Connect Carolina will help make registration easier

Connect Carolina offers a much more organized and efficient registration system than Student Central.

Connect Carolina directs students through a simple three-step process: search, plan and enroll. Much like Student Central, Connect Carolina enables students to select classes from lists sorted in ascending order according to major. Unlike Student Central, Connect Carolina provides an electronic shopping cart for students to collect and organize appealing classes. But first, Connect Carolina prompts students to select a recitation section for courses requiring one, thus minimizing registration errors, taking out the inconvenience of an 8 a.m. recitation section simply because you forgot.

Furthermore, Connect Carolina informs students what requirements the selected course fulfills, inserting a much-needed element of information, eliminating the frantic bulletin-flipping trying to match numbers with semi-interesting course descriptions.

The shopping cart, my favorite feature, allows students to monitor their selected courses’ availability. The shopping cart enables students to enroll into all of our classes at once, rather than forcing us to add each one individually with stress rivaling that of Wal-Mart shoppers the day after Thanksgiving. Kudos, UNC, registration actually seems doable and even enjoyable this year.
