Police log for April 1, 2010

Someone attempted to steal a $5.99 bottle of wine by putting it in his or her pants and leaving the Food Lion at 1720 N. Fordham Blvd. at 2:03 p.m. Tuesday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

Someone stole a purse at 3:56 p.m. Tuesday at 102 W. Franklin St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole a dorm key, $20 in cash, a driver’s license and a wallet worth $20. The purse itself was worth $30, reports state.

Someone cut two screens on the side and back of a house between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday at 520 Colony Woods Dr., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Damage to the two screens was estimated at $100, reports state.

Someone tried to break into the Arc of Orange County building by entering a window on the side of the building between 5 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday at 208 N. Columbia St., according to Chapel Hill police reports.
