The Daily Tar Heel

TO THE EDITOR:

On Thursday night at 7 p.m., the UNC men’s basketball team will once again play for a post-season basketball championship.

This time the prize is the NIT, and should UNC win the game and championship, the players certainly would be elated upon their return to know that students celebrated the victory appropriately.

In previous seasons, students have taken over Franklin Street as a gesture of appreciation for the team’s success in the NCAA Tournament.

However, Franklin Street should be reserved only for NCAA Tournament successes.

The current students have an opportunity to start a new tradition. Much like the flash mob in Davis Library, students should rush Rosemary Street, not Franklin Street, should the Tar Heels prevail. It would be a timeless gesture that nobody on campus will ever forget. GO HEELS!
