Police log for September 14, 2010

—Someone damaged metal porch railings between noon Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at a home on Crest Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
Damage to the railings was valued at $1,000, reports state.

—Police responded to a large group fighting in the street near 506 W. Franklin St. shortly after midnight Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

—Someone stole nine bottles of cologne valued at $173.95 from the Kerr Drug at 1106 Environ Way between 3:44 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Friday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

—Someone caused $20 worth of damage to a mailbox and a stop sign at 6:33 p.m. Friday at 113 Sprunt St., according to Chapel Hill police reports.

—Someone broke into a beige 2001 Lincoln Town Car between 11 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday at 5639 N. Fordham Blvd., according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole a GPS worth $250, vehicle parts valued at $300 and caused $300 worth of damage to the vehicle, reports state.

—Someone stole a leather saddle bag from an unlocked blue 2001 Volkswagen Golf between 8 p.m. Sept. 3 and 10 a.m. Sept. 5 at 875 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., according to Chapel Hill police reports. The incident wasn’t reported until Friday. The $200 bag contained a $3,000 digital camera with lens, two textbooks worth $25 and $60 in art supplies, reports state.

—Someone stole $300 in cash from the Ben & Jerry’s at 102 W. Franklin St. between 12:25 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. Saturday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

—Someone broke the windows of a Chevrolet Malibu and Kia Soul between 10 p.m. Thursday and 6:22 a.m. Friday at 1 Europa Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Damage to the cars totalled $600 and a GPS worth $40 was stolen.
