Regarding the Oct. 27 article “UNC School of Education audit reveals wrongly reported leave hours,” I’d like to iterate a few important points.
Problems in records recording employees’ vacation and other leave balances at the School of Education were discovered by the School’s administration and finance office. A leave audit conducted by the University’s Internal Audit Department documented the extent of the errors. Efforts are well under way to rectify the discrepancies.
With a new administrative team in place, we have established mechanisms to ensure that we will not have these problems again.
