Special Olympics North Carolina athletes and staff want to say thank you to coach Roy Williams, his coaching staff and the entire UNC Men’s Basketball team for a terrific afternoon in the Smith Center on Sunday, Jan. 23. The 8th annual UNC/SONC basketball clinic was a slam dunk success for the nearly 100 Special Olympics athletes from across the state who attended. Many of the Special Olympics athletes are avid Tar Heel fans, but regardless of their team allegiance this clinic is truly a highlight of their basketball season.
Special Olympics North Carolina is very appreciative of the Tar Heels for taking the time to conduct this clinic and for the enthusiasm and encouragement the student-athletes and coaches gave to the Special Olympics athletes.
