Police log for July 7, 2011

  • A suspicious person was knocking on a window at 12:29 a.m. Sunday at 700 Bolinwood Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
  • Someone reported a suspicious Crown Victoria with a thin blue line license plate on its front and tinted windows at 8 p.m. Sunday at the corner of Estes Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
  • Children were playing with a lighter and started a fire outside at 6:26 p.m. Saturday at 500 Umstead Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
  • Someone threw a rock through a window and stole several items at 7:45 p.m. Saturday at 310 McMasters St., according to Chapel Hill police reports.
  • The person stole seven alcoholic beverages worth a total of $135.50, a Lenovo laptop worth $1,700, a backpack worth $75 and camera equipment worth $990, reports state.
  • A male spit on a female at 9 p.m. Friday on Market Street, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
  • An unknown person rang a doorbell several times and ran away at 9:48 p.m. Friday at 5 Silver Cedar Lane, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
