Alert Carolina sent out an informational message Monday about an assault a woman reported near a residence on Bernard Street in Odum Village shortly before 3 p.m. Monday afternoon.
She said the assault occurred after she declined a male stranger who asked for a cigarette. The suspect is described as a white male around 20 years old who is 5 foot, 10 inches tall with dark hair.
