CUAB hosts the full Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows experience this weekend, showing Part 1 and Part 2 back to back. If it weren’t the greatest franchise of our generation (maybe ever), Canvas wouldn’t highlight it. Spend Thursday night preparing with trivia and costume contest, plus candy (regular and cotton) and snacks.

Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique with Sir John Eliot Gardiner

Playing the complete repertoire of Beethoven’s symphonies that made them one of the world’s most famous orchestras, Orchestre Révolutionnaire will play on archival instruments to preserve the true feel of Beethoven’s work.

The Parchman Hour

Last night to see the world premiere of “The Parchman Hour” at PlayMakers Repertory Company. Written and directed by Mike Wiley, the play is set during the American civil rights movement and features the songs and stories of the 1961 Freedom Riders.

“Like Crazy” advance screening
The Chelsea Theater

Admission is free

Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones star in this indie drama about two college-aged students in love and on different continents. Allied Integrated Marketing put together this free advanced screening for UNC students four days before ““Like Crazy”:http://www.likecrazy.com/” is released in the region. It has already won 5 awards at the Sundance film festival, the Hollywood film festival and the Hamptons International film festival.

See Pauper Players’ first performance of the year. In a new location, Pauper is hoping to expand their audience to the Carrboro community. See this classic musical, and “sit down, you’re rocking the boat.”
