Hicks sparks win over Syracuse

Despite battling early foul trouble, North Carolina junior forward Isaiah Hicks had a career night on Saturday with 21 points and eight rebounds in UNC's 84-73 win over Syracuse. And when the Orange threatened to take down the Tar Heels, Hicks rose to the occasion.

UNC football 'greedy for more'

The North Carolina football team concluded its season with back-to-back losses in the ACC Championship and the Russell Athletic Bowl. But despite a disappointing finish, the Tar Heels' historic campaign set the standard for upcoming season.

Sam Lewis anchors win over Navy

After a 10-day training trip to Florida in preparation for the spring semester, the North Carolina men's swimming and diving team was fighting through exhaustion when it faced the U.S. Naval Academy on Saturday.

But behind the leadership of senior Sam Lewis, the No. 18 Tar Heels prevailed.

Tar Heels' winning streak snapped at six

On the heels of a six-game winning streak and a comeback victory over Syracuse, the North Carolina women's basketball team was riding a wave of momentum.

That ended against Notre Dame, when the youthful Tar Heels were trounced 88-54 on Sunday.

Joey Ward swings momentum in Saturday sweep

Behind the dominant performance of redshirt junior Joey Ward, the No. 15 North Carolina wrestling team swept its three opponents in Saturday's Pitt Duals to extend its winning streak to eight matches.

Looking ahead

  • The North Carolina fencing team will finish competing in the St. Louis North American Cup in St. Louis, Mo.,on Monday.
