On Tuesday, North Carolina State and athletic director Lee Fowler parted ways after serving at the post since Sept. 2000.
The search is on in Raleigh for the next AD at N.C. State. But so far, that search has not reached Chapel Hill.
Larry Gallo, UNC senior associate athletic director, said in an email Wednesday that UNC has not been in correspondence with N.C. State about the vacant job.
"At this time, I am unaware of any interest expressed or initiated by either NC State or our staff," Gallo said.
The (Raleigh) News & Observer posted a list of ten viable candidates for the job that all have ties to N.C. State.
