Boston College series Quick Hits

The Tar Heels swept Boston College this weekend at Boshamer Stadium. Here are the highlights.

Finals: UNC 15, BC 1. UNC 6, BC 5. UNC 4, BC 1.

Winners: Friday – Kent Emanuel (6-3, 1.83) on 6 IP, 5 hits, 7 strikeouts, 0 walks and 0 runs.

Saturday – Chris O’Brien (1-2, 3.42) on 1.1 IP, 0 hits, 1 strikeout, 0 walks and 0 runs.

Sunday – Hobbs Johnson (4-1, 1.60) on 5.1 IP, 2 hits, 7 strikeouts, 5 walks and 1 run.

Losers: Friday – Hunter Gordon (2-6, 5.68) on 4.0 IP, 12 hits, 1 strikeout, 2 walks and 13 runs (12 earned).

Saturday – Kyle Prohovich (1-2, 4.08) on 2.2 IP, 1 hit, 2 strikeouts, 6 walks and 1 run.

Sunday – Eric Stone (1-3, 4,32) on 3.0 IP, 5 hits, 0 strikeouts, 0 walks and 3 runs.

Top Hitters
Chaz Frank went 6-for-13 this weekend with six RBI and had two doubles. Cody Stubbs also went 6-for-13 and had five RBI. Adam Griffin was 2-for-4 on Sunday with a pair of RBI.

Notes: Colin Moran made his first ACC appearance since breaking a bone in his hand back in March. The third basemen went 4-for-11 at the plate with 2 RBI.

Michael Morin picked up his 12th and 13th saves of the season on Saturday and Sunday. That puts him in first place in the ACC in the saves department.

Up Next: The Tar Heels will host UNC Wilmington Tuesday before heading down to East Carolina for a game Wednesday. Next weekend North Carolina will face off with Duke for a three-game set at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
