Welcome to another edition of Tracking the Tar Heels.

Here’s what the Tar Heels have been up to:

  • The UNC football team couldn’t complete a comeback against Louisville on Saturday. Senior Writer Kelly Parsons writes that the Tar Heels were doomed by their poor first-half defense.
  • Harold Gutmann of the Durham Herald-Sun wonders which UNC team will show up this week.
  • UNC basketball player Reggie Bullock is looking to build on last year’s defensive growth, writes Adam Lucas of GoHeels.com.
  • The UNC men’s soccer team came out more aggressive but still tied with Wake Forest, Jonathan LaMantia writes.
  • A short-handed women’s soccer team tied with Virginia, David Adler writes.
  • The volleyball team fell and rebounded in the same weekend, Grace Raynor writes. Emily Fedewa writes that sophomore outside hitter Lauren Adkins provided a spark off the bench.
  • Two UNC swimmers took first place in this weekend’s Pier-2-Pier open-water swim, Assistant Sports Editor Robbie Harms writes.
  • Sophomore Charlotte Craddock led the field hockey team to two weekend wins, Assistant Sports Editor Brooke Pryor writes.
  • The men’s golf team finished second at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate, Dylan Howlett writes. Golfer Patrick Barrett finished second overall in the tournament, Max Miceli writes.
  • Lastly, in a bit of sad news, a fan who was struck by a baseball at Boshamer Stadium during the NCAA Regional has died, The Goldsboro News-Argus reports.
