Current IFC vice president seeks presidency

Today’s Interfraternity Council elections will determine the replacement for current IFC president Tucker Piner, who Xx.

“It was challenging, but it was a good experience,” he said.

During his presidency, he said he faced many challenges, including holding friends accountable for their actions.

“They’re really good people with good intentions, even though they make bad decisions,” he said.

There will be 23 candidates up for election in various positions, including president.

One of the candidates for president is current vice president Brent Macon.
If elected, Macon plans to continue developing programs that he worked on with Piner.

One of the programs in development is a mentor program focused on easing the transition to campus life for freshmen. It would link freshmen with older fraternity members and help them with classes, he said.

Macon also said that he feels this year’s election will be important in the year to come, as the council faces the challenge of finding a new assistant dean for fraternity and sorority life due to the leave of Jenny Levering.

“This will be an important year,” he said.

Piner said he feels that this election will bring a new energy and change.

“The guys are really ready to give back to the fraternity system,” he said.

Most of all, Piner said he will miss working with the University and the Board of Trustees.

“I don’t have any regrets,” he said.
