David Kirkpatrick, bestselling author of "The Facebook Effect," gives his lecture on "Ten Lessons From Facebook" as a part of the Roy H. Park Distinguished Lecture Series. Kirkpatrick discussed how Facebook has come to be one of the most powerful and influential companies in the world. With over 750 million active users, Kirkpatrick said, Facebook can be used to unite people and spread information in ways never before possible. The event was created on a whim by a Colombian man who was frustrated with the government; one month later, thousands of people gathered to protest.
