The North Carolina legislature opened discussion today on the education budget; simultaneously, the UNC Board of Trustees held their Audit and Finances Meeting. While the audit of 2009 showed that UNC had spent more than the resources had provided, the audit of 2010 revealed that UNC had succeeded in not going over the budget. The Board agreed that UNC was in "good shape" in regards to not going over the budget for the year of 2011. They did, however, agree that the academic year of 2011-2012 was going to be the most difficult, as budgets are to be significantly cut. Front: John L. Townsend III Back: Chancellor Holden Thorpe
