Preview: UNC men's basketball to face Virginia Tech in rematch on the road

The UNC men's basketball will have the opportunity to return to the win column on Saturday when it takes on Virginia Tech. A win would go a long way to legitimizing the rest of the season while a loss could send the team further down in the rankings and compromise its fight for a tournament spot. There are a few things that they will have to accomplish if they want to leave Blacksburg victorious.

Explosive first half helps UNC run away with 94-74 win over Florida State

In the opening 20 minutes on Saturday, UNC simultaneously displayed its highly-touted offensive and defensive potential — arguably for the first time this season. Even in a second half where the Seminoles outscored the Tar Heels by nearly 20 points, the home team still had 20 more to spare in a lopsided 94-74 win. “We wanted to be the first ones to make a statement, and I thought we did that,” RJ Davis said.

Despite blowout loss to Duke, Brady Manek proved his dedication to UNC's success

Graduate forward Brady Manek gave his everything for nearly all 40 minutes of Saturday's men’s basketball home matchup against his team's fiercest rival, the No. 9 Duke Blue Devils. He scored 15 of UNC’s 28 first-half points, eventually finishing the game with 21 points on 7-16 shooting. His six 3-pointers tied for the most any Tar Heel has made this season. "It was a long game, it was a hard game,” Manek said.
