No. 14 UNC men's soccer falls at home to Duke, 3-2

In front of a packed student section at the UNC Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium on Friday night, the No. 14 North Carolina men’s soccer team suffered a disappointing 3-2 loss to rival Duke. It was the first time since 2014 that the Tar Heels gave up more than two goals in a game.

With the Kirk Urso Student Section, UNC men's soccer will again honor one of its own

The late Kirk Urso, a standout soccer player whom friends lovingly called Captain Kirk, will be honored Friday night by the UNC men's soccer team, when the Kirk Urso Student Section is officially unveiled. His former teammates and friends hope the honor will compel current students to look into the life and accomplishment of a player often referred to as the epitome of the program.

UNC men's soccer season ends in 2-1 loss to James Madison in NCAA second round

The No. 5 seed UNC men’s soccer team fell, 2-1, to JMU during the NCAA Tournament second-round matchup on Sunday night. This premature loss marks the first time all season that the Tar Heels surrendered more than one goal and the first time the team scored in a game and lost. It was also the first time under head coach Carlos Somoano’s leadership that they lost during their opening game in the NCAA Tournament.
