BLACKSBURG Va. — The North Carolina volleyball team extended its win streak to six Saturday night in Blacksburg Va. with a sweep of Virginia Tech (18-8 9-6 ACC) to improve to 17-9 overall and 11-4 in conference play.

Tar Heels record big wins before road trip

After taking down two of the top teams in the ACC at home the North Carolina volleyball team (13-9 7-4 ACC) will head out on two weekend road trips. The Tar Heels defeated Clemson (16-6 8-3 ACC) and Georgia Tech (15-6 7-4 ACC) this weekend to put them in a three-way tie for fourth place in the conference.

Two ACC wins bolster Tar Heels' title dreams

The North Carolina volleyball team faced its toughest weekend of the season and came out on top defeating Clemson and Georgia Tech at the Smith Center. UNC played host to the top two hitters in the conference in Clemson's Danielle Hepburn and Georgia Tech's Talisa Kellogg.

ACC play gets tough for Tar Heels

Nearing the halfway point of the season the North Carolina volleyball team finds itself in the middle of the ACC standings with a conference record of 5-4. Making good on its goal of winning the conference now seems a daunting task.

Tar Heels down N.C. State

RALEIGH — A raucous crowd came out to watch the North Carolina women's volleyball team (10-8 4-3 ACC) take down rival N.C. State in four sets Tuesday (25-14 25-16 23-25 25-16). UNC dominated the first two sets struggled and lost the third  but came back dominant again in the fourth set.

Tar Heels fail to close sets in tough ACC loss

One night after recording a comeback win against conference-leading Virginia Tech the North Carolina volleyball team could not put away middling Virginia on Friday. The Tar Heels (9-8 3-3 ACC) dropped the first set before taking the next two and a five-point lead late in the fourth set. But UVa. came back to win that set and the decisive fifth.

Tar Heels rally to 3-2 win vs. VT

The North Carolina volleyball team knocked off the ACC's No. 1 on Thursday to remain undefeated in the Smith Center this season. The Tar Heels (9-7 3-2 ACC) fell 0-2 in their first two sets against Virginia Tech but rallied back to win three straight and take the match 21-25 19-25 25-21 25-16 15-10.

Tar Heel volleyball sees 2-0 start disappear

DURHAM — North Carolina did not take the court at Cameron Indoor Stadium ready to play Friday. Duke jumped out to an 8-3 lead at the first timeout and didn't look back en route to a dominant 25-16 victory.

Variety of service carries Tar Heels

Standing several feet off the court North Carolina's Aleksandra Georgieva launched a high-arcing serve with a wicked topspin finding a hole in the Missouri State defense for a UNC point.Georgieva a first-year hitter from Bulgaria opened up play for the Tar Heels with the first serve in the Carolina Volleyball Classic because of her foreign style.
