Remodeled Undergrad to Be Unveiled Aug. 19

Students will soon be welcomed back to campus by a new and vastly improved Undergraduate Library. Scheduled to open Aug. 19, the Undergrad has been completely remodeled inside to improve its visual appeal but more importantly to improve its services to students. Larry Alford, deputy University librarian, said the Undergrad's new design provides students with more space than the old design but at the same time creates a more personal environment for study.

Act: Sex Offenders Must Inform Schools

The nation's universities will soon be able to give their students and staff information about convicted sex offenders who are enrolled or work at the school under the federal Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act. Once the law goes into effect Oct. 28, convicted sex offenders will have to notify the school where they are employed or enrolled about their criminal record. The university will then inform its law enforcement division about the person.
