Described on their website as a "dynamic event that brings filmmakers and audiences together for a heartfelt celebration of independent cinema," the festival will run from Nov. 19-21 and feature exclusively Southern films.



Nida Allam, current Durham County Commissioner and the first Muslim-American woman elected to North Carolina public office, speaks at the UNC Institute of Politics Fellows Program event on Oct. 27. She recently announced her campaign for David Price's congressional seat following his current term which ends in 2022.
