'We have ideas and we want to improve': Vaccinate UNC Now rallies for vaccine mandate

Vaccinate UNC Now held its second rally of the semester on Friday. The student-run organization is advocating for the approval of a vaccine mandate for UNC students. As of Monday, 93 percent of students, over 93 percent of faculty and over 83 percent of staff have attested that they are vaccinated, according to UNC's COVID-19 dashboard.

Jaci Field wants to bring communities together as Carolina Black Caucus chairperson

UNC alumna Jaci Field is the director of the Eddie Smith Field House and a member of the Athletic Facilities and Planning staff. She was recently named chairperson of the Carolina Black Caucus, of which she has been a member for over 20 years. “I just realized how great it felt to not be an ‘other’ in a room, and was really stricken by the wonderful feeling of community and family in the room,” Field said of the CBC.

'We should celebrate': Reflecting on UNC's Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month celebrations

Campus Safety Commission to host webinar on fostering inclusivity on campus

UNC junior Sam Zahn wins Truman Scholarship

Sam Zahn, a UNC junior, has been selected as one of the 2021 recipients for the Harry S. Truman scholarship, a scholarship that every year rewards around 60 scholars $30,000 to put toward future careers in government or public service.

'See from our perspective': Students petition chemistry department for support

According to the petition, students are advocating for fairness and respect for their well-being by asking the department to lower the difficulty levels of exams. The petition also states that, while the difficulty of exams increase, the quality for teaching is decreasing due to remote learning.

UNC Student Government representatives provide key upcoming election information

On election day, students will be given a link that will take them to the voting screen. Students will have to log in with either their PID or Onyen. From there, they can choose their ideal candidates for student body offices.
