NEW YORK — North Carolina trails Dayton by 13 at halftime of the NIT championship game.
Larry Drew leads UNC with nine points, and Deon Thompson has eight for the Tar Heels, who are shooting less than 40 percent from the field.
The Tar Heels turned the ball over 10 times in the first half, and Dayton is shooting almost 60 percent from the field. Both Chris Wright and Marcus Johnson have 13 points for Dayton.
