Seth Trimble, a sophomore guard at UNC, has decided to withdraw from the transfer portal and remain at Chapel Hill. Trimble announced the news via his Instagram Tuesday afternoon.
“I’ve taken time to realize where my home is,” he wrote. “After much consideration, I’ve decided my heart and soul belong in Chapel Hill.
“Tar Heel Nation, let’s work.”
This news comes exactly two weeks after Trimble announced his plans to enter the transfer portal on April 9.
Trimble was a key player off the bench last season, and the return of UNC’s go-to sixth man and trusted perimeter defender will undoubtedly improve the depth of North Carolina's backcourt. Trimble was the only non-starter in head coach Hubert Davis' three seasons to play at least 40 percent of the team's available minutes.
He showed notable improvement in his sophomore year — including a jump from 16.7 to 41.9 percent shooting from long range.
Trimble's return will bolster UNC's guard lineup next season, providing talent, versatility and experience to the team.
