DURHAM — No. 6 North Carolina beat No. 4 Duke 88-70 in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday to clinch the ACC regular season championship and a No. 1 ACC tournament seed.
After trailing North Carolina 48-24 at halftime, Duke opened the second half with a 10-0 run to get back in the game.
Duke’s Seth Curry hit a 3-pointer with 7:54 to go to cut UNC’s lead to 14 points, and with just less than six minutes to go, the Blue Devils came within 11. But the Tar Heels’ sharp shooting never kept the Blue Devils from getting any closer.
For the second time this season, all five UNC starters finished with double-digit points. Kendall Marshall led all scorers with 19 points, and Tyler Zeller finished with 18.
