Chapel Hill Police reports: March 31 — April 1

A man was shot shortly after 8 PM on Wednesday evening at the New Hope Commons shopping center. Durham Police Department officers were involved in the shooting.

  • Someone reported a disturbance of the peace on the 200 block of N. Roberson Street at 4:32 p.m. on Sunday, according to Chapel Hill Police reports.

The report states the suspect was throwing food and causing a disturbance.

  • Someone reported a larceny from an automobile, parts/accessories, on the 1700 block of Fordham Boulevard at 3:22 p.m. on Monday, according to Chapel Hill Police reports.

The report states the suspect stole a license plate off a vehicle.

  • Someone reported vandalism and willful damage to property on the 100 block of Ashley Forest Road at 9:01 a.m. on Sunday, according to Chapel Hill Police reports.

The report states the suspect damaged a motor scooter valued at $1,000 and left it in the woods.

  • Someone reported burglary, vandalism and willful damage to property on the 100 block of W. Franklin Street at 2:38 a.m. on Sunday, according to Chapel Hill Police reports.

The report states the suspect walked into the wrong apartment and threw up on items, including an Xbox controller and headphones, valued at $150 each.
