Carrboro Police charge 20-year-old suspect in shooting at 370 E. Main St.

The Carrboro Police Department.

The Carrboro Police Department.

The Carrboro Police has charged a 20-year-old man with six counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill following a shooting that occurred last week, the department said on Thursday.

The suspect has been identified as Lar Wah of Graham, North Carolina.

The Carrboro PD responded to the shooting in the parking deck at 370 E. Main St. on Sept. 16 at 11:51 p.m.

Two groups of people were involved in a physical altercation that escalated and involved shots being fired, the department said.

A Sept. 19 press release by Carrboro Police stated that multiple individuals suffered non-life-threatening injuries that were not from the shots fired. However, new information revealed that one injury was due to the shooting.

The perpetrator was held in the Orange County Jail with a $5,000 secure bond, according to a Sept. 22 press release from the Carrboro Police Department.
