President Obama’s visit to Chapel Hill might cause a surge of patriotism. It will probably cause some die-hard political science students to swoon. But Chapel Hill Transit is warning customers that it will definitely cause road delays and bus detours.
Security from the visit will result in the closures of the section of South Road from Raleigh Street to Country Club Road from 7 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., according to a Chapel Hill Transit press release.
While all bus routes could experience schedule delays, the A, CCX, DX, FCX, G, NU, PX, RU, S, U and V routes will definitely be detoured.
The detours for the A and NU will start at noon, while the CCX, FCX, G, PX, RU, S, U and V routes will be detoured beginning with the first trip of the day until 4:30 p.m.
