The Daily Tar Heel
hurricane florence gas
Jason Armond ·

Before hurricane Florence made landfall nearly all of the gas stations in the Wilmington area were sold out of gas and boarded up. The Kangaroo Express gas station on Oleander Drive was no exception. Customers who drove by the Kangaroo station on Thursday, September 13th in Wilmington, NC was greeted by a boarded-up store and bags covering the gas pump handles stating, “Sorry out of Service.” Thursday evening before hurricane Florence made landfall, reports came in that of a few gas stations remain open with long lines for fuel.
