As hurricane Florence winds and rain continue, rescue and recovery efforts drew to a close on Friday, September 13th in Wilmington, NC. Wilmington Fire Department, Battalion Chief of Operations, Patrick Campbell, alongside New Hanover County District Attorney, Ben David (left) assemble with members of the Wilmington Police Department and other first responders at the scene of the tragic rescue and recovery effort on Mercer Avenue on September 13th. In the early morning hours, a large tree fell on the bedroom of a home in Wilmington, North Carolina trapping inside a family of three. Fortunately, the father was rescued from the scene sustaining critical injuries. Sadly, the several-hour-long rescue effort by numerous first-responder agencies ended in tragedy.
