The Encore Series: Stephen Anderson

This week, The Encore Series features Stephen Anderson, UNC assistant professor in composition and jazz studies. Anderson served as the director of the Summer Jazz Workshop. Aside from teaching jazz, Anderson spearheaded the Electro-Acoustic Studio on campus and also create work of his own. The Encore Series is a new video web series featured by the Daily Tar Heel Arts Desk. Derived from the French language, the word “encore” is defined as “again” and serves as a call for more. This series is dedicated to presenting an in-depth look at how various figures within the artistic community use their particular trades as a medium for expression.

Mock wedding showcases Pakistani traditions

A mock wedding displayed some of the traditions of Pakistani weddings, which usually last 2 to 3 days. The event, organized by Sangam and Pak-Sa, took place Wednesday in The Pit. Correction: Due to a reporting error, Monal Patel was misidentified as Monika Patel. The Daily Tar Heel apologizes for the error.
